Shacketra (Sciacchetra)
Chinkwe -Terre, 5 villages, or 5 territories – this is the name of the most famous winery area of Liguria. In size, it is a little more than one wine farm in Bordeaux, but at the same time there are several most dangerous vineyards in the world. Slacks with narrow fences are located on steep slopes overlooking the sea. Many vines can only be taken manually, and it is very difficult to care for them. But in spite of any difficulties, this area tries to remain itself, as it was and a hundred years ago.
Although, if not for the tourism, thanks to which local wines are sold out quite quickly, most of the vineyards would have long been abandoned. But the easy earnings that local winemakers receive, selling their wine to undemanding tourists, often excludes any attempts to improve product quality. The most famous wine from Chinkwe -Terre – SciacChetra (Shacketra) – is now almost forgotten. This is a sweet, aromatic wine, whose body would suit a yellow straw guilt, designed to get a brighter shade of color. It is made of albarola variety (Albarola). It surprisingly quickly reaches an expressive taste. However, today such wine is of good quality and in sufficient quantities can only be found in a few manufacturers. It is hoped that it will not disappear completely.
