The departure of Ukrainian confectioners will not affect the Russian market

Russian confectioners assure that the ban on confectionery products of Ukrainian companies will not affect the Russian market in any way. Regional manufacturers are ready to occupy the vacant niche, because, according to them, the production lines are used only by two -thirds.

Roschen banned access to the Russian market back in July, now two more companies have joined it – AVK and Conti. In total these companies belonged to 15% of the market. Sergei Gusev, heading the Slavyanka factory, believes that local manufacturers have about the same assortment and prices, so the buyer will practically not notice the changes.

“Sanctions are definitely bad. It is unpleasant when someone becomes a victim of political games. However, this exempts the market for a local manufacturer, which significantly stimulates production, ”Gusev argues.

In his opinion, this castling will not affect prices for the end consumer. He also noted that Russia will definitely be able to provide Crimea with confectionery products in full. Recall that at the moment food is imported from the territory of Ukraine.

“Working relations with the Crimea have been getting better for the past few months. We have already started retail sales and customer reviews are positive. Delivery of goods is carried out in a ferry. Of course, we experience certain difficulties with logistics, but they are solved, ”says Gusev.

The reaction of Ukrainian companies to the ban was expected. AVK reported that the company’s lawyers are beginning to search for ways to return Ukrainian products to the Russian market. Conti refused comments, but by analogy with Roschen, the company can maintain its presence thanks to the Cont-Rus factory located in the Lipetsk region.
